ABCs of Success
At Pleasant Valley Middle School, we believe that success in school and life comes from focusing on three key areas: Academics, Behavior, and Character. Known as the "ABC's of Success," these guidelines help students thrive both in and out of the classroom. Here’s how they work:
A - Academics
Success in academics means paying attention during class, completing assignments on time, staying organized, and studying for tests. Students are encouraged to aim for good grades by actively engaging in their learning and seeking help when needed.
B - Behavior
Positive behavior includes attending school regularly, arriving on time, following school rules, and treating peers and teachers with respect. By behaving appropriately in class and in all school settings, students create a positive environment for learning.
C - Character
Character development is about having strong morals, being respectful, and contributing to the school community. Students are encouraged to be kind, show integrity, and take part in activities that promote a sense of belonging and responsibility.
ABC Incentive Programs
To motivate students to achieve success, Pleasant Valley Middle School offers several incentive programs based on the ABC's of Success:
- ABC Cards: Teachers give students ABC Cards when they demonstrate success in Academics, Behavior, or Character. These cards can be "cashed in" at the ABC Store for prizes, snacks, and treats.
- ABC Clubs: Students who maintain a 3.0 GPA and have no office referrals are invited to join ABC Clubs, where they can participate in fun lunchtime activities such as recess, arts and crafts, board games, and eSports.
Through these programs, Pleasant Valley Middle School encourages students to strive for excellence in Academics, Behavior, and Character, setting them up for success both in school and beyond.
