Athletics

In order to participate in athletic competitions, students must meet academic and behavior guidelines. Academic eligibility is established by the Kansas State High School Activities Association and their coaches. A student must have passed 5 classes of unit weight the previous quarter in order to participate. A current sport's pre-participation physical evaluation (sports physical, concussion form, emergency and insurance information) dated after May 1 must be on file before a student is allowed to try out.  All athletes will need to complete the online registration on Rank One before they can participate in a sport. Almost all the forms you will need can now be signed electronically.  Please use the most current physical form attached.

Spectators who display inappropriate behavior at games will be excluded from future athletic contests and possibly removed from the current event. All students must be picked up promptly after the competition with arrangements made ahead of time. Late pickups may cause the student to be banned from future events.ir opportunity to attend any future games.

The gymnasium/cafeteria will open for students with a sticker-ticket for home games at 3:10 p.m. Students attending home games will need to abide by the following procedures/expectations:

• Report to the gymnasium or cafeteria entrance by 3:20 p.m. No student will be allowed in after 3:30 p.m. unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. 
• Students will need to have their Student ID and pre-purchased sticker-ticket to attend the game. 
• Students will pay the $3.00 entrance fee before school or during lunch on game days to receive a sticker-ticket (no students will be allowed to pay at the door without a parent/guardian).
• Students are expected to remain in school dress code during all home games.
• PVMS students will sit in the student section (bleachers on the south side of the gymnasium). 
• Students from the other schools will only be allowed to attend if they are accompanied by a parent/guardian and they will sit on the visitor’s section (bleachers on the north side of the gymnasium). 
• School rules will be enforced during home games and students must be respectful and courteous at all times. Students can use electronic devices in the gym.
• Once the game starts, students will only be allowed to leave the gym during designated break times or with permission from a supervisor. Notify supervisor for emergencies. 
• If a student chooses to leave the game, they will not be allowed to return to that game unless accompanied by a parent/guardian.
• If a student is asked to leave the game by a staff member for behavior reasons, or if they are found loitering on school property after they leave, they will not be allowed to attend any future game unless accompanied by a parent/guardian.
• Students must leave the school grounds or be picked up an adult no later than 10 minutes after the game ends. Students who are not picked up within 10 minutes of the game ending will not be allowed to attend any future games unless accompanied by a parent/guardian.
